There are certain dates in which Collier Street United Church does not conduct weddings due to other scheduled events. Please contact the church office for date availability.

4. How many people does the sanctuary hold?
The sanctuary can accommodate 500 people.

Collier Street United Church also has a small chapel that is available for weddings.

6. How much does it cost?
The fee is reviewed annually. Wedding Fees include honoraria for the Minister, Organist and Custodian, candles, and pew bows as well as a rental fee for the use of the Sanctuary for families not active at Collier.

7. Do I have to be a member of Collier Street United Church or any United Church? What if I have been divorced?
Collier Street United does not have restrictions with the exception that you must be able to legally marry inWeddings at Collier Canada and wish to express your faith through a church wedding.

8. Are marriage classes required?
Collier Street United Church does not host marriage classes. Instead, you and your fiancé will meet with the minister for pre-marriage counselling.

9. May we include our own vows?
You will receive a copy of the Wedding Service used at Collier. We welcome your ideas and will be glad to discuss them with you. The ceremony is, however, a service of worship, and any suggestions or changes should be reflective of that and must be approved by the minister.

10. What about music?
A CD is provided to assist you in selecting music for the Processional, Signing and Recessional. Any selections made outside of the offering on the CD must be approved by the organist/minister. If you are wanting a soloist, either your own or one of Collier’s soloists, appropriate music for worship is to be chosen and must be confirmed with the minister. If you would like to hire outside musicians (i.e., a string quartet, bagpipes), please confirm with the minister.

11. Are there any restrictions on photography/videography?
It is requested that photographs not be taken by guests once the ceremony begins. Your Wedding Photographer and/or Videographer must comply with Collier’s expectations for photography/videography during the ceremony. These matters will be clarified at the time of the wedding rehearsal.

12. May the guests throw confetti after the wedding?
Confetti, rice, bird seed, etc. may not be thrown on church property.

13. May we see the church before we decide to hold our wedding at Collier?
The public is welcome to come and view the sanctuary. The church hours are listed in the right side bar of this page.
