COVID-19 Updates

The Simcoe/Muskoka District Health Unit region is now in the Red-Control level effective Monday December 14. In light of this, the Official Board voted unanimously to shift Collier Street United Church back to Phase 1.

What does this mean?

Worship leadership will take place outside the Church building. All services will be offered only online effective immediately, and the building will be open only to staff.
We appreciate that Christmas is a special time in the life of our Church family, and in that light we want to ensure everyone stays safe and healthy.

January 29 is our Grand Family Flash Choir

New!  Collier’s own Grand Family Flash Choir will be starting with a zoom sing-along on Friday, January 29 at 7:00 p.m.  This is a fun opportunity for Grandparents, grandchildren, and everyone in between, to spend 45 minutes to an hour socializing and singing – just for fun – with Music Director, Sandra Lisa Ruttan.
We’ll learn a little about how to “warm up” our voices with fun exercises, and then explore rounds, call and response (that would actually work quite well on zoom!!), partner songs and straight up sing together for fun songs.  This is a great chance to spend time safely with people you love, doing something we all love, and meet new people too!
Our feature song for January will be “Somewhere Over the Rainbow!”  After all… “When all the world is a hopeless jumble and the raindrops tumble all around, Heaven opens a magic lane….”  so, let’s find that magic lane and sing!
If you would like to participate, please email Sandra Lisa at to be put on the mailing list for the zoom link.

Habitat for Humanity Huronia

Habitat for Humanity Huronia has reached out to Collier in the hope we can help them raise awareness that they are looking for families for our 2022 Innisfil builds. Habitat will be building 14-20 homes and so far we only have 2 families confirmed!

Habitat Canada brings communities together to help families build strength, stability and independence through affordable homeownership. With the help of volunteers, Habitat homeowners and 53 local Habitats working in every province and territory, we provide a solid foundation for better, healthier lives in Canada and around the world. Habitat for Humanity Canada is a member of Habitat for Humanity International, which was established in 1976 and has grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in more than 70 countries. Habitat for Humanity Huronia was founded in 1995 and has helped over 40 families since!
